Artificial Intelligence Conference

The Menemen district of Izmir hosted a significant scientific event addressing artificial intelligence, one of the most debated and intriguing topics of our time. Held on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at 3:00 PM at the Menemen Cultural Center, the conference titled “Artificial Intelligence and Humanity: A Shared Future,” organized in collaboration with the Menemen District Governorship, Menemen Municipality, and the Entrepreneurship and Development Association, comprehensively evaluated the multifaceted impacts of artificial intelligence on society.
At the conference, titled "Artificial Intelligence: Opportunity or Threat?", the implications of artificial intelligence in the fields of health, economics, and engineering were discussed by expert academics. The event was moderated by Dr. Sıddık TOPALOĞLU, former member of the YÖK (Council of Higher Education) Supervisory Board.
Among the speakers was Prof. Dr. İlker GÜL, Head of the Cardiology Department at Izmir Bakırçay University Faculty of Medicine, who discussed the innovations that artificial intelligence applications bring to diagnosis, treatment, and patient monitoring processes in the healthcare field.
Prof. Dr. Femin YALÇIN KÜÇÜKBAYRAK, Head of the Basic Sciences Department at the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, Izmir Katip Çelebi University, and Assoc. Dr. Sıla Övgü KORKUT UYSAL, also from the same department, discussed the technical development of artificial intelligence, data processing, algorithm security, and ethical issues from an engineering perspective.
Professor Dr. Hüseyin AKTAŞ, a faculty member at the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences of Manisa Celal Bayar University, shared information on the effects of artificial intelligence on the economy and the dynamics of the future workforce.
The conference saw high participation, with attendees actively contributing, particularly during the question-and-answer session. At the end of the event, Ali Çelik, President of the Entrepreneurship and Development Association, stated: “We will continue to inform people, raise awareness, and do beneficial work for society through our conferences. Our biggest goal is to expand these types of events for a society empowered by knowledge.”
These conferences, which add value to the scientific and cultural life of Menemen, are expected to contribute to raising the awareness of the local people regarding technology and the future.
